Uploading Files (Methods & Limits)

StudioSync gives you flexible ways to upload your files, whether you’re a photographer, studio manager, or power user integrating with other tools. Below are the supported methods, file types, and tips for a smooth experience.


🔹 Methods of Upload #

1. Web Upload (Drag & Drop)

  • Simply log into your StudioSync account from any modern browser.
  • Open the project or gallery you want to add files to.
  • Drag and drop files directly into the upload area or use the “Select Files” button.
  • Great for quick uploads and small to medium batches of files.

2. Desktop Uploader / Sync App (if available in your plan)

  • Install the StudioSync desktop app for Windows or macOS.
  • Drag files into your project folder and they will automatically sync to your account.
  • Perfect for large file sets, background syncing, and offline-to-online workflows.

3. API Upload (Advanced Users & Integrations)

  • Developers and studios with custom workflows can integrate via the StudioSync API.
  • Automate bulk uploads, connect with existing DAM systems, or integrate with tools like Lightroom or Capture One.

🔹 Supported File Types #

StudioSync is built to handle the most common media and document formats:

  • Images: JPEG, PNG, TIFF, RAW (format support varies by camera/software)
  • Audio: MP3, WAV, AAC
  • Video: MP4, MOV, AVI
  • Documents: PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX
  • Archives: ZIP, RAR (ideal for bundling large sets of files)

🔹 File Size Limits #

  • Upload limits depend on your subscription plan.
  • See the Billing & Plan section in your account for exact limits.
  • If a file is too large:
    • Compress it into a ZIP file.
    • Split into smaller parts before uploading.

🔹 Progress Indicators & Error Handling #

  • Each upload displays:
    • Progress bar
    • File size and remaining time estimate
  • If an upload fails:
    • You’ll see an error message with details.
    • Use the Retry button to attempt again without reselecting files.
